Jersey as a fabric is now my bitch. Just thought I'd mention that since Orly is rocking his new palazzo trews with SOME EFFECT I think *sage nod*

Orly is a Lishe boy. He has evidently missed being able to find trousers that look enough like a skirt that he wants to wear them!

What did the trick for you to tame jersey fabric, if I may ask?

Ball pointed sewing machine needles, they are MAGIC, I swear! :D

Does it really have a rounded tip o__O I should look for them a bit more (the sewing shop showed me needles for jersey and they were pointed all the way down ^^;; )

It's barely visible, but it is indeed rounded enough on the tip that it parts the weft of the fabric rather than punching a hole through it like normal needles :)

they remind me of gypsy or nomad pants from the middle east, in a sense

I kinda modelled them on the massive, wide legged ones that are currently all over the place, but it's basically just Thai fisherman trousers I guess :D

Thai fisherman trousers is.... an interesting description. Not what I would have pegged them as XD

Those pants are incredible, and Orly's fashion style is just perfect. It's rare that you see stylish dolls that look so good and they're not dressed in lolita or period clothing. Which are lovely by the way, but we need some cool contemporary casual too, and here it is! <3

Long shot but...

I'm not sure how this fabric is called. I've got some very thick pink one, not unlike the one in the photo, albeit not silky (could simply be scuffed tho) and I'd love to make my littleweenie some overalls out of it. Have you managed to conquer this thing? .___. no needle wants to handle it, and it frays like whoa when cutting, I'm running out of ideas ; ^ ;

That's 16 wale cord, upholstery grade! I would have thought MUCH too bulky for resin scale at all tbh my dear! You need babycord for in scale and then fray check on the seams, I use it a lot and it's fine done like that :D Almost everyone wears something in babycord here :D

Thank you! I'll check and see what I can find. I refuse to give up on the idea of having overalls made out of that *laughs*

If you're determined to use the one you have for something other than midgetwear, you'll need an upholstery needle to even think about getting through it and you might do well serging or zigzag stitching the seams to help the fraying ;)
