This is not a shot I would ever normally take. Just a bloke, standing there, no close up, no props, just this bloke, in his ancient old cargo's and a jumper someone gave him for Christmas, but then I realised...this is John. That's him in a nutshell really innit, on the surface, just a bloke with nothing extraordinary about him, but scratch the veneer of everyday and you find something else entirely hidden underneath.

Then I got to thinking that it also seems fitting that of all my dolls, he is the one with the most drama surrounding him, which is fucking impressive when you consider it. His was the head that spawned Sherlock coming home after four years, he's the most intrinsically valuable blank head I own, he's the only one that's ever had it's authenticity called into question (subsequently proved genuine), he's the only SD I own on French Resin and he's the one with the least STUFF. He's special on many counts, so he deserves his immensely plain portrait I think. :)

For the record, John Watson is a Dollstown Hue/B&G hybrid. Yes, he is real, it's been checked.

Teefs <3
Also, who on earth would question the authenticity of one of YOUR dolls?! You are more pro-real-resin than Soom probably is ffs!

Got to love his massive overbite *cackles*

Oh it was a valid question, someone else had a couple of heads from the same seller and we were concerned on the differences in resin between ones the other person knew to be genuine and these three heads we'd got from the one person. Thankfully Dollstown confirmed their authenticity, so tis all fine but it really did bring home to me how hideous a situation it would have been were he, or indeed ANY of my lot not genuine.

:O That must have been quite a scare. How would one even begin to deal with finding out they owned a knock-off?
Also I'm glad he IS genuine :)

Genuinely, I have no idea what I'd do if I did find out they weren't real. I guess keep them to remind me how batshit crazy the entire situation's become and just never mod them.

Thanks ;)

Yeah, I guess you couldn't ever get rid of them, especially not on DOA's MP. I wonder if you contacted the real company and explained everything they would trade you the bootleg for a real one?
Oh! And speak of the devil, look what just popped up on DOA [link]

There's no way the companies would touch them with a bargepole, and really, why should they have to, not their fault someone scammed is it.

I saw that earlier, I'm glad one of the companies is FINALLY doing something public about it all! :D

That's true.
There's one like that on Iplehouse too. It's sad that this is an issue anyway, recasting a doll myself wouldn't even occur to me.
